Ms P, having been collected by staff from Nepean Hospital Detoxification Unit, entered Guthrie House in March 2016.
She was the subject of electronic monitoring by Corrective Services NSW. This meant that her every move outside of Guthrie House had to be logged and approved by the electronic monitoring team. Despite this impediment Ms P was provided with exemplary case work intervention by her case worker. Ms P attended internal and external programs and her desire to attend church on Sunday was also factored into her program.
The Guthrie House worker obtained community housing for Ms P and also worked diligently with Family and Community Services to provide Ms P with visits with her children. Ms P successfully completed her conditional terms of release and the Guthrie House program where she became an After‑care client.
